What is the farthest someone has fallen (free fall) without dying?

Answer by Diana Crețu:

Her name is Vesna Vulović.

She is a (now 64 years old) Serbian woman who used to be a flight attendant.

In 1972, when she was 22 years old, she was working on a flight that was over the (now) Czech Republic when a bomb explosion in the baggage compartment caused the plane to break apart. The bomb was claimed by a Croat that was member of a nationalist group, but no official confirmation has been made.

Vesna was the only survivor. She fell freely, without a parachute, from a height over 10,000 meters (33,000 feet). The impact got her many severe injuries (fractured skull and vertebrae, as well as broken legs). She also became partially paralized, and went into a coma for almost a month. She fully recovered from these injuries though, and switched to a desk job with the same airline.

Unlike many others who have been through such experiences, she hasn't developed a fear of flying, and has no issues watching movies with plane crashes.

In 1985, she was awarded the Guinness Record title for the highest fall without a parachute.

Why do we feel emotionally betrayed if our partner sleeps with another person, even though we all know that sex does not necessarily invo…

I know that it's just the way most of us feel about sexual loyalty, but WHY do we feel that way? I think it's paradoxical – on the one hand we have no problems having sex just for the fun and pleasure of it with people we don't love, but on the other hand, as soon we are in a relationship, we feel like sex and love are inseparable things. When you're being "cheated on", you feel like your partner does not really love you, because "if he/she loved me, he/she would only want to sleep with me". Isn't that weird? Why don't we think "yes, my partner slept with somebody else, but that does not mean he/she loves that person, just like I do not love every person I have ever slept with". Or why don't we think "No, I would never sleep with anyone I don't love, because then sex would be less meaningful once I'm in a relationship".

Got a call from Hariharan about a young boy who he felt sang well… So asked me if he should send him over… That was the first time I met KK. KKLooking great with a long mane of hair and a fab voice to go with the look!

He shared that he had a dream to record an album with me but no such luck… He was just a young singer who was trying to make it and hadn’t become ‘KK‘ as he’s known today.

So I got him to sing jingles for me and he persevered… Kept asking me… Finally I made a few copies of the jingles he had sung for me and took them to Sony Music. They loved his voice but decided against making his album… Unless I did it! I was really busy then post ‘Colonial Cousins’ and ‘
